The Boston Bar Association 2007 Annual Meeting Luncheon

Tuesday, September 25, 2007
Sheraton Boston Hotel
11:30 Reception | 12:30 Luncheon

Keynote Speaker Neal K. Katyal
Professor of Law, Georgetown University Law Center

Professor Neal K. Katyal has taken part in the most contentious constitutional battles of the last decade. In the 2000 election dispute, he served as co-counsel to Vice-President Al Gore. When the Supreme Court heard landmark Michigan affirmative-action cases, Professor Katyal represented the deans of several private law schools. In the Hamdan v. Rumsfeld case, he successfully argued that military tribunals at Guantanamo Bay violated international law, domestic military law and the constitutional separation of powers. Walter Dellinger, former Solicitor General, stated that Hamden is "… simply the most important decision on presidential power and the rule of law ever. Ever."
