Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a combined federal and state program that provides monthly cash benefits to income-eligible families of chronically ill and disabled children.

This seminar will provide a broad overview of the substantive standard for a child’s disability eligibility. It also will offer practical guidance on how to plan and present a child’s SSI appeal before an Administrative Law Judge. Finally, the presenters will discuss related issues that may arise in these cases and how to address them. We will ensure that there is sufficient time for questions and answers.

There is no charge for this training if you are willing to accept a pro bono case through Volunteer Lawyer Project. You can provide pro bono representation to a client at a convenient time. Mentoring by the Volunteer Lawyer Project on a going-forward basis will be available for those accepting a pro bono case.
