International Estate Planning

This program is designed for attorneys, trust officers, accountants and financial planners with resident or non-resident clients who have assets located in and outside of the United States, which present international estate planning opportunities.

The discussion will include various aspects of international estate planning considerations and the interrelationship of U.S. estate planning and the requirements of foreign jurisdictions. The program shall include speakers from significant offshore venues who will provide the offshore trustee/banker perspective to international estate planning and asset protection planning in a U.S. estate.

The expert panel will discuss:

  • Introduction to U.S estate taxation of non-U.S persons, Qualified Domestic Trusts and the Non-U.S citizen spouse
  • Coordination of estate planning between the U.S. and a foreign jurisdiction.
  • Taxation and planning with foreign trusts created by U.S. persons, trusts in the U.S created by non-U.S. persons and reporting requirements involving international trusts.
  • The use of offshore structures for asset protection and estate planning.
  • Professional Trustee perspective to Asset Protection.
  • Offshore banking and trustee services and the types of structures and planning done for customers from the U.S. .
