Family law practitioners, clients, and their families rely upon the advice of their attorneys to help make business-minded financial decisions during emotionally charged times. Therefore, the advice provided by counsel can not be made in a bubble, and must take into account future effects, including tax implications and consequences.

As the Internal Revenue Code intersects with family law on all levels - from the most modest of estates to those with sophisticated high asset values - it will inevitably impact nearly all of the advice bestowed. Tax implications attach to the payment of support, property division, and custodial aspects.

When counsel is asked to dispense advice on the Courthouse stairs, or on their feet before the Judge, it is not enough to simply advise clients to consult with a financial advisor.  Any practicing family law attorney, or tax consultant, regularly providing advice to parties engaged in the divorce process, can not afford to miss this seminar.
