Join us for our annual Bankruptcy Pro Bono Training program. Attendees will learn how to file a Chapter 7 case for low-income clients and how to avoid common pitfalls.

Discussion topics will include:

  1. Pre-filing considerations
  2. How to prepare and file the case
  3. Debtor obligations
  4. Maximizing Exemptions (including declarations of homestead)
  5. Asset Abandonment
  6. The role of the Chapter 7 Trustee
  7. Issues that can hold up the administration of a Chapter 7 case
  8. Chapter 13 as an alternative to Chapter 7

Following this discussion there will be a question and answer period.
