Legal Issues in Same Sex Relationships Monday, December 8, 20084:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Sponsored by: Family Law Section and Trusts & Estates Section On November 18, 2008, it will have been five years since the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s landmark decision in Goodridge. Today, the law continues to evolve to deal with the practical aspects of same sex relationships and their legal rights. This seminar will address the legal issues that same sex couples face regarding their children, their marriage, and estate planning. Attendees will learn what couples must do to protect themselves and their families, as well as the consequences of failing to properly plan for marriage, children and death. Expert panelists will discuss the intricacies of the logistics and legal issues surrounding pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements, tax consequences, children, adoption, estate planning and other related probate issues.
