Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities in Support of the Bankruptcy Section's Veterans Initiative

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Below are two volunteer opportunities in support of the Bankruptcy Section's Veterans Initiative.

On Saturday March 21, 2012, the Bankruptcy Section has been asked to lead a 1.5 hour session on financial education at a Veteran’s retreat in conjunction with its continuing outreach to Veterans, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Veteran’s Services.  The retreat is for military veterans, and their families, who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.  The retreat, called Project New Hope, is organized by local Lions Clubs and will be taking place in Groton Massachusetts. The session will be supported by a Power Point Presentation that has been prepared by the Section and which highlights issues concerning credit card debt, mortgages and bankruptcy.  It is truly a privilege to be asked to assist these individuals and we hope you might be able to participate as a volunteer.  Contact Donald Lassman at Don@LassmanLaw.com if you are interested in participating.

On Wednesday February 1, 2012 and Friday February 17, 2012, the Bankruptcy Section has been asked  to lead sessions on financial education at the Knights of Columbus in Wilmington Massachusetts (2/1/12 session) and at the Leominster Veterans Center in Leominster, Ma. (2/17/12 session).  Both sessions will start at 7:00 p.m. and typically run for 1.5 – 2 hours.   Both sessions will be supported by a Power Point Presentation that has been prepared by the Section and which highlights issues concerning credit card debt, mortgages and bankruptcy.  It is truly a privilege to be asked to assist these individuals and we hope you might be able to participate as a volunteer.  Contact Donald Lassman at Don@LassmanLaw.com if you are interested in participating.
