Boston Bar Foundation Will Honor Mayor Thomas Menino at 2014 Adams Benefit

Underscoring Thomas M. Menino's unparalleled leadership and service to the community throughout his 20 years as Mayor of Boston, Boston Bar Foundation (BBF) President Jack Clymer today announced that the BBF will honor Mayor Menino with the BBF's highly coveted Public Service Award on the evening of January 25 at the John & Abigail Adams Benefit at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

Clymer stated: "I can think of no honoree more worthy of our Public Service Award than Mayor Menino. We here at the BBF have witnessed firsthand the Mayor's longstanding commitment to Boston's underserved children, families, and individuals. Whether it's his unwavering support for the Boston Bar Association Summer Jobs Program, his advocacy for CORI reform, or his leadership of efforts to help those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings, Mayor Menino has been front and center and has received national recognition for his decades-long dedication to the City of Boston. Our city is truly a better place for his service."

The John & Abigail Adams Benefit is the premiere fundraising event of the BBF for supporting the delivery of legal services to low-income and underserved individuals and families. With the event more than 6 months away, the BBF has already raised over $250,000 in sponsorships.

The BBF is the charitable affiliate of the Boston Bar Association. Its mission is three-fold: funding and promoting innovation in legal services, enhancing access to justice for the underserved, and supporting the public interest activities of the bar.
