ABOUT THE BOSTON BAR ASSOCIATIONThe Boston Bar Association is a professional membership organization that traces its origins to meetings convened by John Adams, the lawyer who provided pro bono representation to the British soldiers prosecuted for the Boston Massacre and went on to become the 2nd president of the United States. The Boston Bar Association has more than 9,500 members drawn from private practice, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, the courts, and law schools. The mission of the Boston Bar Association is: "To advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, to facilitate access to justice, and to serve the community at large."
