The Corporate Equality Index conducts a survey and rates employers regarding
their policies and practices pertinent to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender
(LGBT) employees, consumers and investors. The Index rates employers on a scale
from 0 to 100 percent. Ratings are based on factors such as non-discrimination
policies, diversity training and benefits for domestic partners and transgender
employees.
The 2011 Corporate Equality Index surveyed 130 law firms and 615 private
employers in various industries.
