As the year draws close, the holiday season seems to be on everyone's mind.
The Boston Bar Association, however, is already thinking about next summer. Why?
Because it is never too early to invest in the future of Boston Public High
School student. The BBA is excited to begin taking commitments for the 2011
Summer Jobs Program following a record breaking year where 46 students were
placed at some of the most prestigious law firms and law related entities in the
city of Boston.
The BBA Summer Jobs Program, a collaboration
between the BBA, Boston Public Schools, the City of Boston and the Boston
Private Industry Council (PIC), selects high-achieving students from
Boston Public high schools to participate in 8 week paid internships at law
firms, offices and legal departments in Boston. Since its inception in 1993,
more than 300 racially and ethnically diverse students have participated in the
program. Many have gone on to college and law school while some have even passed
the bar and are practicing attorneys at area firms.
The BBA
invites law firms, law offices and legal departments to invest in Boston’s
future by creating a pipeline of diversity and inclusion into the legal
profession. For more information on the program, or to commit to hiring a
student for next summer, please click here or contact
