The Roxbury Division of the Boston Municipal Court announced a new policy to
improve efficiency and simplify the process to seal criminal records. Under a
new protocol, criminal record sealing cases in the Roxbury Court are scheduled
for a single hearing and heard on the 3rd Thursday of the month effective
November 18. This innovation will eliminate duplicative hearings, reduce
clerical work, and save time for judges, lawyers, litigants, and the clerk’s
office. Greater Boston Legal Services launched a CORI sealing clinic to
coincide with the new protocol and will have a table onsite to provide advice
and/or representation to low income parties with Roxbury cases on the 3rd
Thursdays of the month from 9 a.m. to noon.
