SJC Standing Advisory Committee Seeks Candidates

The Justices of the Supreme Judicial Court are soliciting applications for appointment to the Court's Standing Advisory Committee on the Rules of Professional Conduct ("Committee"). This Committee advises the Court on Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:07, the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct. These nominees will be considered for a current vacancy and for any other  vacancies that occur during 2011. 

Members are expected to make this important responsibility a priority commitment. This Committee generally meets for two hours each month. Outside of meetings, Committee members do considerable research and drafting.  The Justices are particularly interested in applications from attorneys with experience in the field of legal ethics.  

Members will be appointed for a three-year term with the possibility of reappointment to a second, consecutive term.  In making its appointments, the Justices will strive to achieve diversity, including geographic diversity.
