Attention Business Lawyers: The Pro Bono Committee of the Business Law
Section is looking for volunteers to get involved in the Women Entrepreneurs Law
Project, an opportunity to put your legal expertise to good use by providing pro
bono representation to low income women who have started or are in the process
of starting their own business. The Pro Bono Committee is co-sponsoring
the Project along with the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights and the Women's
Bar Association.
The Project will kick off with a free legal workshop and counseling session
for women entrepreneurs at the Boston Public Library (700 Boylston Street),
Conference Room 05/06, on February 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, followed by a
matching process in which the Lawyers' Committee will pair up program
participants with qualified lawyers (i.e., someone like you). If you are a
business lawyer with at least four years of experience who would like to get
involved in a great cause, please contact Lauren Gesserman Smith (lgsmith@lawyerscom.org or 617-988-0604)
at the Lawyers' Committee and mark your calendar for February 10.
