The Legal Advocacy & Resource Center (LARC) has launched a dedicated line
to conduct intake for the Military & Veteran's Pro Bono Project, and will be
referring the callers to Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP), Shelter Legal Services
and the BBA Lawyer Referral Service based on income guidelines. The phone line
is staffed by a law student who has previously served in the military and
uniquely suited to understand legal issues pertaining to military
personnel. The Legal Help Line can be reached at 617-603-1710.
The BBA, LARC, Shelter Legal Services, and VLP are committed to serving the
legal needs of military personnel, veterans and their families. With the
launch of the dedicated line, BBA volunteers will continue to serve pre and post
deployment military personnel at Yellow Ribbon events. Volunteers
including Bankruptcy, Family Law, Labor & Employment, and Consumer Finance
attorneys will be present at the next Yellow Ribbon Event on February 6,
2011.
