The Judicial Nominating Commission ("JNC") is accepting applicants for the
Supreme Judicial Court vacancy created by the recently announced retirement of
Associate Justice Judith A. Cowin. The application deadline is very
soon: Thursday, February 17, 2011. The JNC will conduct a thorough
review, but the process must be expedited in order to fill the April 5, 2011
vacancy in a timely fashion. The new application for this vacancy and
instructions for filing this particular application are available on the JNC
website (www.mass.gov/jnc).
The JNC is interested in attracting a broad and diverse pool of
qualified applicants for this important judicial position
