Are You Ready for 27th Annual AALAM Banquet?

The 27th Annual AALAM Banquet will be held on Tuesday, April 19, starting at 6 pm, at China Pearl Restaurant. A networking cocktail hour will run from 6 pm to 7 pm, followed by a Chinese banquet.

The evening's key note speaker will be Lisa A. Wong, the Mayor of Fitchburg. Mayor Wong is the first minority mayor of Fitchburg and the first Asian-American woman to be elected mayor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Prior to being elected mayor at the age of 28, Mayor Wong served as the Executive Director of the Fitchburg Redevelopment Authority.

AALAM will also present its Founders Award at the Annual Banquet, which is awarded annually to an Asian-American attorney who has made significant contributions in business, academics or the community as it relates to the law. This year, the Founders Award recipient will be Mr. William F. Lee, Co-Managing Partner of WilmerHale LLP. Mr. Lee specializes in intellectual property and commercial litigation and has been recognized consistently for his outstanding achievements in his legal practice. Among his many stellar accomplishments, Mr. Lee is internationally recognized as a leader in intellectual property and he is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Mr. Lee is also the first Asian-American managing partner of an AmLaw 100 law firm.

Finally, we will also award the AALAM Scholarship to a deserving law student who has demonstrated both academic excellence and a commitment to the Asian-American community. This year, we are thrilled to announce that our AALAM Scholarship is generously sponsored by Mercedes-Benz.
