Brown Rudnick Charitable Foundation's Relationship Grant Selection Process Commences

The Brown Rudnick Charitable Foundation Corp., a non-profit, tax-exempt entity established by Brown Rudnick LLP, is accepting letters of interest for its 2011-12 Relationship Grants. The deadline for submitting letters of interest is April 4, 2011. After reviewing these letters, the Foundation will invite promising candidates to submit a more detailed proposal. Grants will be awarded on or about September 1, 2011 to correspond with the academic school year. More information about the Relationship Grant program and the selection process can be found at www.brownrudnickcenter.com/foundation/relationship.htm.

Last year's grant selection process involved 135 letters of interest and 23 full proposals, with the Foundation ultimately awarding 13 Relationship Grants to non-profit organizations in Boston, Harford, Providence, New York and Washington DC. Many former grant recipients have also been beneficiaries of Brown Rudnick’s volunteer support and pro bono legal representation.

For a decade, the Foundation has been awarding annual Relationship Grants to tax-exempt organizations for programs designed to improve inner-city education in a city where Brown Rudnick has domestic offices. These annual grants seek to form a relationship with a non-profit organization that optimally includes providing financial support, pro bono legal representation and volunteer time.

According to Albert W. Wallis, executive director of the Brown Rudnick Charitable Foundation Corp., "With its launch in 2001, the Foundation was a unique concept among America’s premier law firms. The innovative educational programs that we support through our grant programs provide inner-city children with a unique platform for self-expression, self-exploration and self-confidence. Now in our 10th year, the Foundation remains a leading model of law firm corporate social corporate responsibility, and we are eager to continue this tradition through our 2011-12 grant program."
