Do you have connections with a Boston Public School that would welcome
participating in the BBA's Annual Law Day in the Schools Program happening on
May 3, 4 and 5?
Owing to layoffs in the Boston Public Schools, the BBA has lost touch with
many of the teachers and counselors who once requested lawyers to do interactive
workshops and mock trials at their schools - teaching young people about
the law and the legal profession.
Last year, over 400 students benefited from the BBA Program. The Program was
started in 1986, to celebrate Law Day. Volunteers visit classrooms
throughout the community to teach elementary, middle school and high school
students. The theme of this year's Program will be "The Legacy of John Adams -
From Boston to Guantanamo."
If you know of a school in Boston that can benefit from this program, please
contact Stephanie Lee at slee@bostonbar.org or 617-778-1914.
