On April 26th at 8:30AM the BBA will host a brief training session for
volunteers participating in the BBA's 2011 Law Day in the Schools Program. Have
you RSVP'd
yet?
Since the BBA launched Law Day in the Schools in 1986, hundreds of lawyers
have celebrated Law Day by visiting schools throughout the community to share
their passion for the law with elementary, middle school and high school
students. Volunteer attorneys lead mock trials and interactive
presentations on topics such as the First Amendment and the Constitution.
"The Legacy of John Adams - From Boston to Guantanamo" is the theme for
2011.
2011 Volunteers can choose to visit classrooms on one of the following
days: May 3rd, 4th and 5th. The commitment is no more than 6 hours
including the training session, travel and classroom time.
In 2010 more than 40 volunteers reached some 700 students in the Boston
Public Schools.
