Responding to a steady rise in Spanish-speaking callers, the BBA Lawyer
Referral Service (LRS) is looking for bilingual attorneys to handle the
increased caseload.
"The BBA Lawyer Referral Service
has noticed a significant increase in the number of callers who prefer a
Spanish-speaking attorney," said Erin Higgins of Conn Kavanaugh Rosenthal Peisch
& Ford, LLP, Chair of the LRS Review Committee. "Having a more diverse panel
of attorneys will help us meet the needs of the public for high-quality legal
services at a reasonable cost, and will provide other attorneys with a trusted
place to refer a matter outside of the attorney’s area of expertise."
The BBA LRS is a valuable resource for attorneys who may not be able to meet
the needs of prospective clients but would like to place them in capable hands.
With the ability to conduct intakes in English, Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin
and with attorneys who speak 19 different languages, the BBA LRS can assist
clients with a wide range of language preferences. The only ABA-approved lawyer
referral service in the greater Boston area, the BBA Lawyer Referral Service has
been helping people find the right lawyer for over 50 years -- connecting some
10,000 people a year to quality legal assistance in over 300 practice areas.
