The BBA will re-launch the Public Interest Leadership Program (PILP) in
January 2012. Since its launch in 2003, the program has provided young lawyers a
platform to develop essential leadership skills. Today the program boasts an
alumni base of over 90 attorneys from a variety of backgrounds.
Keeping PILP's core purpose in mind, the BBA is now taking a step back to
assess what this initiative is providing to participants, sponsor employers and
the community. The goal is to redesign the program to maximize the time
committed to the program by all concerned.
The application process will begin in September and participants will be
selected for the program in December. As in the past, the program will be open
to lawyers who have been in practice for fewer than 10 years and have already
demonstrated an aptitude for public service. Attendance will be important, and
participants will be expected to attend all scheduled meetings.
