BMC Seeks Input on Improvements for Court Operations

The BMC Court Operations and Policy Implementation Committee is seeking your input on how to improve operations at the Boston Municipal Court.

This committee works collaboratively with the leadership of each division within the court to improve operations and assist in the implementation of new Trial Court policies and initiatives.  The committee's goal is to identify operational deficiencies and to maintain the current level of services in the midst of the current fiscal crisis.

Judge Tracy-Lee Lyons, the committee chair, has guided the group by asking: "What is the future of the BMC?"  Judge Lyons is requesting recommendations for change that will enhance the operations of the Boston Municipal Court Department.  Specifically, the committee is seeking comments regarding the staffing of the clerk's office, probation, security issues (i.e. the number of court officers, etc.) as well as case flow and case processing.  The committee welcomes all suggestions, but will focus on those that don't require an outlay of additional resources.

All feedback must be sent to Katie Elmore at kelmore@bostonbar.org by Wednesday, July 20, 2011.
