Last Sunday, the BBA Lawyer Referral Service displayed a brand-new banner and
table throw at India Day, an annual event organized by the India Association of
Greater Boston (IAGB) that typically draws over 12,000 attendees. This year’s
event not only celebrated the 64th anniversary of India’s independence, but also
marked 50 years of service by the IAGB to the Indian-American community of New
England. The celebration consisted of cultural performances at the DCR Hatch
Memorial Shell as well as a wide variety of vendors that displayed goods and
services throughout the Boston Esplanade.
Vilas Dhar and Vikas Dhar (Dhar Law, LLP) joined the BBA staff in reaching
out to the community and answered general legal questions from festival
attendees. The event provided an excellent opportunity for BBA staff to talk
with members of the public about how to obtain a lawyer from the BBA Lawyer
Referral Service, the only ABA-approved lawyer referral service in the greater
Boston area.
