Carlos Perez-Albuerne, a partner in
the Intellectual Property Litigation Group at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP,
was honored today with a 2011 Latino Leadership Award from the Massachusetts
Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA) for his outstanding professional
achievements, exceptional dedication to excellence in the legal profession, and
commitment to community service in Boston. Mr. Perez-Albuerne was selected
from among a large pool of highly qualified nominees to be honored as one of
three recipients of this award.
At Choate, Mr. Perez-Albuerne focuses his practice on intellectual property,
information technology, and complex commercial litigation. He is a member
of the firm’s Diversity and Technology Committees. Mr. Perez-Albuerne has
also served as a special assistant district attorney for Suffolk County.

Mr. Perez-Albuerne currently serves as the deputy regional president for the
New England Region of the Hispanic National Bar Association. He is past
president of the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys. He
speaks frequently on the issue of diversity in the legal profession, and serves
on the boards of various educational and charitable organizations in the greater
Boston area.
Mr. Perez-Albuerne received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University
Law Center in 1998, and his B.S. from Clarkson University in 1991.
