Charles J. Ogletree, Jr., the Jesse Climenko Professor of Law
at Harvard Law School, and Founding and Executive Director of the Charles
Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice.
At the event, the BBA will present the John G. Brooks Legal Services Award to
Manisha Bhatt, a Senior Attorney in the Family Unit of Greater
Boston Legal Services, and principal architect of the "Know Your Rights Project"
of the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston. Mary
Ryan, a partner at Nutter McClennen & Fish and a past president of
the Boston Bar Association, will be honored with the Thurgood Marshall Award for
her many contributions to improving the delivery of legal services, including
her work as co-chair of the BBA Task Force on Expanding the Civil Right to
Counsel.
