Nixon Peabody LLP has announced
that David S. Resnick has been named a member of The Personalized Medicine
Coalition’s (PMC) Public Policy Committee. Mr. Resnick, a Boston-based partner,
is co-leader of the firm’s patents practice and a member of the firm’s life
sciences practice.
PMC is dedicated to educating the public and policymakers to increase the
understanding and adoption of personalized medicine. The Public Policy Committee
sets the organization’s public policy agenda, and oversees the strategies by
which policy ideas are communicated to target audiences, including all branches
of the federal government and other non-governmental agencies. PMC represents a
broad spectrum of more than 220 academic, industry, patient, provider and payer
institutions.
Mr. Resnick focuses his practice in the life sciences, including patent
procurement, strategic patent management, transactional matters and associated
client counseling. He has extensive experience in prosecuting applications for
major U.S. research institutions and domestic and international corporations.
Mr. Resnick has developed a particular focus on the areas of pharmacogenomics,
proteomics and disease biomarkers and their application in the evolving field of
personalized medicine.
Mr. Resnick is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers
and the American Intellectual Property Law Association. He earned his J.D. from
Syracuse University College of Law and both his M.S. and B.S., Microbiology,
from the University of Rhode Island.
