Pro Bono Month is not only an occasion to seek out new pro bono
opportunities, but also a chance to reflect on and celebrate on the services
provided to indigent clients in the Greater Boston area. The Boston Bar
Association's New Lawyers Section is holding their Pro Bono Celebration on
October 11th, a networking opportunity where attorneys of all backgrounds can
discuss current and future projects and have a chance to acknowledge the hard
work that has been put towards pro bono efforts in the past year. The event will
feature Senior Lawyers Co-Chair Judge Margaret Hinkle (ret.), who will discuss
the value of pro bono work and highlight some of her past pro bono experiences.
Jaime Charles, co-chair of the New
Lawyers Pro Bono Committee said, "This event will be a great opportunity for our
members to learn about these all the fantastic pro bono projects the BBA puts
together and how they can immediately get involved. This event isn't only about
celebrating the great pro bono work being done by members of the Boston Legal
Community; it's also about bringing young lawyers together to share ideas and
make connections."
