Boston based firm Nixon Peabody LLP has been recognized by Computerworld as
one of the top 12 green information technology (IT) organizations. The
publication, written for senior IT industry leaders, chose the winners from a
group of 70 applicants, each striving to find new ways to reduce energy
consumption in their IT equipment and use technology to lower energy use
elsewhere in their operations.
The firm, which launched the Legally Green® Initiative in 2007, was
recognized for an extraordinary level of commitment. Specifically, the
publication highlighted the firm’s Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), Green
Operations Steering Committee and local Green Committees which lead green
initiatives throughout the organization, and IT’s efforts to both spearhead and
enable much of the work.
