Murphy & King WelcomesTwo Cristo Rey Boston High School Students

Murphy & King PC announced that the firm is hosting two students from the Cristo Rey Boston High School for the 2011 - 2012 school year. The two students, sophomore Justice Nguyen, and freshman Thalissa Pierre will gain first-hand law firm experience as part of the school’s Corporate Work Study program.

Cristo Rey High School students are involved in an outreach program that partners with local Boston businesses to give students the opportunity to gain experience outside the classroom and give them a glimpse of the working world. Murphy & King PC has been a corporate sponsor of the Cristo Rey Program for 8 years.

Justice is an honor roll student and a member of the school’s basketball team. Previously, he worked at Walsh Brothers. His duties include filing, data entry, document organization and other office tasks. He resides in Malden, Mass.

Thalissa successfully completed Cristo Rey High School’s two week summer training institute where she developed her proficiency in Microsoft Office, goal articulation, as well as many other business environment principles. Her duties at Murphy & King include office organization, filing, data entry, and other office tasks. She resides in Hyde Park, Mass.

“We are thrilled that Murphy & King continues to support this important program for Cristo Rey High School as our students learn about working in a professional environment, while at the same time earn financial support for their education,” said Joyce Georgakopoulos, human resource director. “Thalissa and Justice are both enthusiastic and all around great kids, we are lucky to have them.”
