Four Choate Hall & Stewart Attorneys Singled Out as "2011 Top Massachusetts Super Lawyers"

Choate Hall & Stewart LLP announced today that four attorneys from the firm – Jack Cinquegrana, Dr. Brenda Herschbach Jarrell, Diana K. Lloyd, and Eric J. Marandett – have been named to the elite 2011 “Top Massachusetts Super Lawyers®” lists for attaining the highest level of recognition and professional achievement in the state for 2011. 
 
Dr. Brenda Herschbach Jarrell, chair of Choate’s Intellectual Property Group and co-chair of the firm’s Life Sciences Group, and Diana K. Lloyd, co-chair of Choate’s Government Enforcement & Compliance Group,were selected for inclusion in the “Top 50 Women Massachusetts Super Lawyers” list.  Jack Cinquegrana, co-chair of Choate’s Litigation Department and Government Enforcement & Compliance Practice Group, and Eric J. Marandett, chair of Choate’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group, were named to the “Top 100 Massachusetts Super Lawyers” list. 
 

Jack Cinquegrana is a veteran trial lawyer with over 25 years of experience in litigation and government enforcement matters.  He represents companies and individuals in civil and criminal litigation, and in investigations involving government agencies.  Mr. Cinquegrana is a member of Choate’s Executive Committee.  He received his J.D. from Boston College Law School and his B.A. from Cornell University. 


 

Dr. Brenda Herschbach Jarrell focuses her practice on IP prosecution, licensing and IP litigation.  She is well versed in a wide variety of technologies in the biotech, pharmaceutical, and specialty chemical industries and has experience representing companies and institutions at all stages of the life sciences business lifecycle as well as those who invest in them.  Dr. Jarrell is a member of Choate’s Executive Committee.  She received her J.D.,cum laude, from Harvard Law School, her Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California at San Francisco, and her M.A. and A.B., magna cum laude, in chemistry from Harvard University.
 

Diana K. Lloyd has over 20 years of experience in federal and state government enforcement matters, internal investigations, and related business and securities litigation. In addition to representing companies and individuals involved in government or internal corporate investigations, she handles complex financial and securities litigation and represents clients before the SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.  Ms. Lloyd serves on Choate’s Operating Committee and Associates Committee.  She received her M.A. and J.D. from New York University.  She received her B.A., Valedictorian, summa cum laude, from St. Lawrence University.
 

Eric Marandett is a seasoned trial lawyer representing biotech, pharmaceutical, and technology companies in high stakes patent litigation, as well as IP counseling and due diligence.  He also has significant complex commercial litigation experience, including securities and antitrust litigation, unfair competition, theft of trade secrets, state and federal investigations of Medicare and Medicaid fraud, and anti-kickback and drug record keeping violations.  Mr. Marandett received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Tufts University.
