On Thursday, December 8, 2011, over 80 friends and
members of the Asian American Lawyers of Massachusetts ("AALAM") convened to
celebrate the December holidays at AALAM's annual holiday party. The
soirée was generously hosted, with food and drink provided, by Proskauer Rose
LLP ("Proskauer") at their Boston office. In the spirit of giving and the
holiday season, this year's event was also focused towards benefiting the Asian
Outreach Unit ("AOU") at Greater
Boston Legal Services ("GBLS") and the Asian Food Pantry, Ricesticks and
Tea. After former Massachusetts Attorney General, Scott Harshbarger,
now at Proskauer, gave warm welcoming remarks, Cynthia Mark of AOU GBLS and
Sherry Dong of Ricesticks and Tea were introduced, and said a few words about
their organizations. AALAM President Sarah G. Kim of Bingham McCutchen LLP
closed the program, wishing everyone good cheer, outlining upcoming events, and
urging folks to check www.AALAM.org for
details. The attendees came armed with a dried and/or canned good and to grab an
AOU donation envelope, and mingled into the evening.
