Last Call for 2013 Summer Jobs Employers - 5 Reasons Your Firm Needs to Sign On

May 31st marks the deadline to sign up to join the growing lists of firms and legal departments who have committed to hiring a Summer Jobs student. If your firm hasn’t already signed on to the program, here are a few reasons why it should:

1. This year’s program has set a record, offering 57 students positions at law firms and departments across Boston.
2. The pool of accepted students is exceptionally diverse. Students from this year’s program were born in El Salvador, Guinea, Haiti, Rwanda and the Dominican Republic.
3. Students get a once in a lifetime opportunity to gain professional experience and exposure to the legal profession. This job may influence the next generation to attend law school.
4. You can finally catch up on all the data entry, filing, photocopying and other administrative duties on your to-do list.
5. Even if you are at a smaller firm who doesn’t need the work, you can support a student by sponsoring one through the Boston Bar Foundation. These students will be placed in legal nonprofit organizations or government agencies who cannot afford to pay an intern for the summer.
