With more than six months to go before the 2014 John & Abigail Adams Benefit, the Boston Bar Foundation has already raised $310,000 thanks to the generous contributions of 24 Boston area firms.
The Adams Benefit is set for January
25th 2014 at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, where Mayor Thomas Menino will
be honored with the BBF’s Public Service Award. Each year over 800 lawyers and
business professionals attend the annual event, which supports the delivery of
legal services to low-income and underserved individuals and families in our
community. Since IOLTA funding began to decline 5 years ago, the BBF has made
over $1.5 million in grants from Adams Benefit proceeds alone to help fund legal
services organizations in Boston, which work in all areas of need from housing
and homelessness to domestic violence.
