Chief Justice Paula Carey of the Trial Court to Receive the Haskell Cohn Distinguished Judicial Service Award

On Wednesday, September 11th, 2013, the BBA will honor Chief Justice of Trial Court Paula M. Carey with the 2013 Haskell Cohn Distinguished Judicial Service Award. For more information or to register for the event, click here.

Recent recipients of this award include Chief Justice Karyn Scheier of the Land Court, Chief Justice Barbara Rouse of the Superior Court, retired Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and  Chief Judge Sandra L. Lynch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for First Circuit, as well as many other distinguished jurists.

Haskell Cohn served as President of the BBA from 1969 to 1971 and was a founder of the law firm Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo.  At the BBA, Haskell Cohn is most remembered for his commitment to advancing the quality of the judiciary, and for providing counsel to state governors in the judicial screening and selection process as Chair of the Joint Bar Committee. The Award was established in 1975 – with support from Mintz, Levin – in honor of the 50th anniversary of Haskell Cohn's admission to the bar.
