Four Firms Join the BBA as Sustaining Firms

Banner & Witcoff, Blake & Associates, Kates & Barlow, and O’Connor, Carnathan & Mack have all become sustaining firms of the Boston Bar Association. The addition of these diverse firms, which represent a number of different practices and areas, will broaden the BBA’s 10,000+ attorney membership base.

Banner & Witcoff is an IP law firm with six of its over ninety attorneys practicing out of its Boston office. Firm-wide, Banner & Witcoff offers the Donald W. Banner Diversity Scholarship for law students, an effort to bring valuable different perspectives from historically underrepresented minority groups into the legal community and IP law specifically. Banner & Witcoff has also contributed financial support or attorney time to representative bar and charitable organizations around the city, including Greater Boston Legal Services.

Located in the heart of downtown Boston in the city’s Old City Hall, Blake & Associates focuses on representing on clients with diminished capacity or families who have a member suffering from diminished capacity. Collectively, the firm’s four attorneys offer more than thirty years of experience in elder law and estate planning; they also cover guardianships and conservatorships, advanced and special needs planning, and probate & estate administration. The lawyers at Blake & Associates are involved in charitable and professional activities on behalf of the elderly and mentally ill, and Blake & Associates became a sponsor of the MainSpring Coalition for the Homeless for 2006.

Providing high quality legal services and expert representation in family law matters, the seven attorneys at Kates & Barlow have been serving the Boston community since 2009. Their practice, located near Boston’s Waterfront, handles matters including and related to separation, divorce, cases of high net worth, child custody, paternity, support, and property division. Attorneys from Kates & Barlow have frequently appeared as speakers and lecturers at educational programs, including multiple continuing legal education workshops.

O’Connor, Carnathan & Mack, based in Burlington, MA, concentrates in three areas: complex commercial and employment litigation, corporate and fiduciary litigation, and alternative dispute resolution. Its clients have included local, national, and international corporations, primarily in the financial, technology, insurance and retail industries. The firm also offers alternative fee arrangements to help mitigate the financial burden of litigation.
