Edwards Wildman Hosts Citizen Schools National Board of Directors Event

Edwards Wildman recently hosted "Education and the Economy: A Conversation with Lawrence H. Summers," a breakfast for the Citizen Schools' National Board of Directors, at which Lawrence Summers was announced as chair-elect. Summers is the Charles W. Eliot University Professor and president emeritus at Harvard University and former Treasury Secretary of the United States.

Edwards Wildman has been a longtime supporter of Citizen Schools, with George Ticknor, a Boston-based partner in Edwards Wildman's Business Law practice, serving on its board of advisers. The firm's support comes in the form of financial contributions and involvement in the apprenticeship program. Citizen School's apprenticeship programs are partnerships between private industry and Citizens Schools, and involve special teaching projects in struggling Boston middle schools. Edwards Wildman's apprenticeship has been teaching the kids about managing a professional sports team, in this case the Celtics.
