Sponsors Commitment to Legal Services Puts Adams Adams Benefit Over $585,000 and Counting

Untitled Document

With the start of the holiday season, an outstanding group of sponsors has generously helped the BBF raise $585,000 for the 2014 John & Abigail Adams Benefit, putting the event steering committee within reach of its $625,000 goal.

This year, the BBF will honor Mayor Thomas Menino with the BBF Public Service Award. Throughout his two decades in office, Mayor Menino has proved himself an advocate of social and economic diversity, innovative public health services, environmental sustainability, neighborhood reform and education for underserved youth. Please join us as we thank Mayor Menino for his tireless commitment to making the City of Boston a better place to live and work.

The Adams Benefit is Greater Boston's largest fundraiser for legal services, raising money for community organizations that provide hope and help to those in need. Since Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (IOLTA) funding began to decline 5 years ago, the BBF has made over $1.5 million in grants from Adams Benefit proceeds alone to help fill a portion of the gap in legal services funding. In 2013, the BBF granted $900,000, half of which was generated from the sponsors of the Adams Benefit, to 28 sponsors. We invite you to learn more about the work of our grantees and meet some of those who have directly benefited from organizations funded by the BBF.
