Rose, Chinitz & Rose today announced that Judith R. Sizer, former General Counsel at Brandeis University, has joined the firm as Senior Counsel.

Judith R. Sizer has practiced as a higher education lawyer for over twenty-five years. Before joining Rose, Chinitz & Rose, she served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She has worked in many areas of charities law, including non-profit governance, Board support, advisory boards, fundraising and development, compliance, conflicts, contract negotiation, museum collections, executive compensation, policy work, non-profit tax, and trust and estate administration.

Judy began her legal career in the Office of the General Counsel at Yale University, followed by several years in the tax and benefits group at a law firm in Boston. She has served as Chair of the Boston Bar Association College and University Law Group and in various capacities in the National Association of College and University Attorneys. She has spoken on higher education law issues at numerous conferences and other venues.

Alan D. Rose stated, “At a time when colleges and universities are struggling to comply with constantly changing federal and state laws and regulations, and trying to do more with less in every area of administration, Judy brings to our education practice an unparalleled combination of judgment and practical experience. Judy’s breadth of knowledge as a long-time in-house university attorney will be extremely useful to our higher education and independent school clients. We are fortunate to have Judy join us, and we look forward to working with her.”
