BBA Announces Incoming Leadership for 2014-2015

The Boston Bar Association has announced its leadership team for the upcoming program year effective September 1, 2014, welcoming five new officers and nine new members of its governing Council.

The Boston Bar Association is a non-profit, voluntary membership organization of over 11,000 attorneys drawn from private practice, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, the courts, and law schools. The Council sets Association policy, makes major financial decisions, and provides crucial oversight on behalf of its members. It supports the Association’s mission to advance the highest standards of excellence for the legal profession, to facilitate access to justice, and to serve the community at large.

Julia Huston, a partner at Foley Hoag LLP and Chair of its Trademark and Copyright practice, will serve as President of the Association. At Foley Hoag, she handles high-stakes intellectual property and business disputes. As chair of the firm’s Trademark, Copyright & Unfair Competition Practice Group, her practice includes litigation, counseling and strategy in the areas of trademarks, copyrights, false advertising, and unfair competition. At the BBA, Ms. Huston is a member of the Executive Committee and has served as Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Chair of the Amicus Committee, Co-Chair of the Delivery of Legal Services Section, Co-Chair of the Litigation Section, and Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation Committee.
