Boston Bar Association Issues Statement Re: Confirmation of Denise Casper as U.S. District Judge for District of Massachusetts

Upon receiving news of the confirmation of Denise Casper as a United States District Judge for the District of Massachusetts, BBA President Donald R. Frederico issued the following statement:

"Denise Casper is a superb addition to our federal court. She has a keen intellect, a proper judicial temperament, and an outstanding record of public service. Massachusetts is very fortunate to have a lawyer of Denise's quality joining the federal bench."

During her years as a lawyer at Bingham McCutchen and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Denise Casper served as an elected member of the BBA's governing Council, as a member of its Executive Committee, as a member of the Boston Bar Journal Board of Editors, and as a member of a task force that examined trends in state and federal jury trials.

The Boston Bar Association is a non-profit, voluntary membership organization of 12,000 attorneys drawn from private practice, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, the courts, and law schools. It traces its origins to meetings convened by John Adams, the lawyer who provided pro bono representation to the British soldiers prosecuted for the Boston Massacre and went on to become the second president of the United States.
