Larry DiCara Will Chair 2007 John & Abigail Adams Benefit Ball
Lawrence S. DiCara, a partner at Nixon Peabody LLP, has been named Chair of the Boston Bar Foundation’s 2007 John & Abigail Adams Benefit Ball, the premier charitable fund-raising event of Boston’s legal community. With Paul Guzzi as Public Service Award honoree, the event will be held on October 20 at the Westin Copley Place, Boston. Guzzi is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Jesse, Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. “His commitment to our community, buttressed by his extraordinary fund-raising skills, makes him the ideal person to chair an event that will yield significant grants to organizations providing legal aid to low-income families and individuals.”
An expert real estate and administrative law attorney, Mr. DiCara has taught at Harvard, Boston University, and the University of Massachusetts. He has extensive experience with legislative matters at the federal and state levels, and frequently travels to Washington, DC to represent the position of clients. Intimately involved with the development process in Boston for over thirty years, he has represented owners and developers before the Boston Redevelopment Authority and many other city and state agencies.
A former member and president of the Boston City Council, Mr. DiCara has served as a member of the Democratic State Committee for over 30 years. He serves as a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Harvard Cooperative Society, and as a Director and Clerk of the Artery Business Committee. Chairman of the Audit Committee of the City of Boston, Mr. DiCara also serves as Vice Chair of the Boston Municipal Research Bureau.
Mr. DiCara has served as Treasurer and a Council member of the Boston Bar Association, and chairs its Legislative Steering Committee. He is former President of the Boston Latin School Association, the Greater Boston Council, Boy Scouts of America and the Boston Theatre District Association and a former Trustee of the University of Massachusetts.
The BBF is the charitable affiliate of the Boston Bar Association.
