Boston Bar Association Joins in Rally
Demonstrating Solidarity with Lawyers in Pakistan

Following his statement just one week ago protesting the firing of the Chief Justice of Pakistan and the beating and jailing of lawyers opposed to martial law in Pakistan, Boston Bar Association President Tony Doniger today announced that the BBA will be joining the Massachusetts Bar Association and other bar groups in a rally organized today on the steps of the Massachusetts State House at 1 p.m. by the National Lawyers Guild.

"I encourage all members to rally today to show their support for restoring the Constitution of Pakistan and underscoring the importance of an independent judiciary," said Doniger. "Once again we join in the call of the American Bar Association and others for the immediate restoration of the Pakistani legal system."

Doniger also urged BBA members to attend a national rally at 12 Noon tomorrow at the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, D.C. that is being organized by the American Bar Association.
