BBA NEW LAWYERS SECTION HELPs LOW-INCOME TAXPAYERS

The New Lawyers Section of the Boston Bar Association is seeking volunteers for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program.  Volunteers prepare state and federal income tax returns for low-income taxpayers at the Boston Public Library on Thursday evenings and Saturdays from March 8 through April 7.  Each volunteer is asked to contribute approximately 12 hours of his or her time over the tax season.  All volunteers must complete IRS online training and certification.  An information/training session is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Boston Bar Association.  To participate, please contact BBA Department of Community Affairs at (617) 778-1934 or Pdullea@bostonbar.org.
