Charitable Board Service: What You Need to Know and How to Get Started

Friday, April 27, 2007
Registration & Networking Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
Program: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Serving on a charitable Board is an opportunity to contribute to a worthy cause or mission, gain experience, broaden your career horizons, and use your skills to serve your community in an area of your interest. The Public Interest Leaders of the Boston Bar Association are proud to present this engaging program that will explain everything from how to land a position on a Board to the skills you will need in order to be effective.

With a focus on critical issues for non-profit trustees, experts on corporate governance and non-profit law, non-profit accounting, tax-exemption and fundraising, will take you step-by-step through the components of Board service.

This program will be particularly valuable to lawyers who have not had significant experience serving on charitable Boards but would like to. Lawyers and non-lawyers who are already serving on Boards and want to be more knowledgeable and effective will also find this program informative.

This is a free program for BBA Members and their guests.  For more information or to RSVP, click here.
