"What do you do to escape or embrace winter in Boston?"

Grace V. Garcia - Morrison Mahoney LLP
"In order to avoid feeling shut-in, my husband and I try to get outside as much as possible. We ice-skate on Frog Pond, snowshoe in Blue Hills, and if we can get away, we snowmobile or ski up north.   Although we try to enjoy winter here, we definitely look forward to at least one long weekend in Florida to get some sun and, hopefully, catch a Red Sox Spring Training game."

Margaret M. Pinkham - Brown Rudnick Berlack Israels LLP
"I embrace winter by taking advantage of my husband's labor of love -- the classic outdoor rink in our backyard, where we skate and play hockey morning, noon and night when the weather cooperates, and thoroughly enjoy our time with our kids and neighbors.  It's a good day if we can keep the youngest ones outside for 20 minutes before the obligatory hot chocolate."

Jeffrey Purcell - Greater Boston Legal Services
"Embrace: 1) shovel the driveway and throw snowballs with my four year old son; 2) hike in the Blue Hills.

Escape: 1) attend Judge Young’s evidence training (can’t go wrong with Judge Young on anything); 2) continue to research and write on Boston lawyer James Otis and the origins of the Fourth Amendment (apropos of the Patriot Act)."

Deborah L. Thaxter - Nixon Peabody LLP
"I have taken up skiing again after a hiatus of 25 years. While the equipment is far better, the legs are decidedly weaker. This has resulted in a recent close encounter with a tree hiding on a Sugarbush trail. Nine stitches later, I am shopping for a helmet."
