"What program would you like to see at the BBA this year?"
 |
Gael Mahony - Holland & Knight LLP
"I would like to see the BBA rededicate itself to sustaining and building the Business Litigation Session. The BLS has been a great success, primarily because of the dedication of Judge van Gestel. As he approaches the end of his recall term, it is most important to plan for continuation of the same high level of performance. The BLS was created largely because of the advocacy of the BBA. The BBA should step up to that task once again."

Ingrid C. Schroffner - Burns & Levinson LLP
President, Asian American Lawyers of Massachusetts
"Cultural considerations should be revisited to see how the issues have evolved and remind practitioners that the increasing diversity of Massachusetts brings with it the responsibility of effective communication with clients and litigants from other cultures. Also, employment-based immigration -- for attorneys working with businesses complying with ever-changing federal regulations." |

S. Elaine McChesney - Bingham McCutchen LLP
"Why the practice of law is not 'just a job.' As service professionals, the needs of our clients come first, and one must commit to excellence in service (to the client, the legal community, and the profession). Many new attorneys lack understanding of what this entails as a practical matter." |
 |
Anthony J. Fitzpatrick - Duane Morris LLP
"As a patent litigator, I would be very interested to see a program later this year on the Supreme Court's patent decisions in 2006 and 2007. And as a former co-chair of the BBA's New Lawyers Section, I would always encourage basic skills programs for newer lawyers." |
