"What was the worst movie you ever saw in the movie theater?"

J.D. Smeallie - Holland & Knight LLP
"Caddyshack II. Following on the footsteps of a virtual cult film for many golfers, Caddyshack II attempted to replicate the juvenile humor of the original, but without Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight, Bill Murray and most of the other "stars" of Caddyshack. It was a sad effort at best, with none of the memorable lines ("caddy out of nowhere", etc.) of its predecessor. I recall walking out of the theater before it ended. This was one "mulligan" that should have stayed in the bag."

Lisa Cukier - Burns & Levinson LLP
"The worst movie I ever saw at a cinema was the audience-participatory midnight-showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show in Manhattan in 1980, ... a close second worst was the next night's showing of the same flick."

Thuy Wagner - Boston Medical Center
"I think ET was the worse movie I ever saw in the movie theater because when I saw it, I didn’t speak English very well and thought it was just a movie about a cute creature hanging out with two kids and one of them takes him on a bicycle ride up to the moon.  Now that my English comprehension is better, ET is on my Netflix queue so I can watch it again and see if I can decipher its true meaning."

Lonnie Powers - Legal Assistance Corporation of Mass.
"Forest Gump by a mile.  I almost walked out several times but kept sitting there thinking it couldn't get any worse but I was wrong."

Joseph Kociubes - Bingham McCutchen LLP
Scenes From a Mall.  Could Bette Midler and Woody Allen  make an excruciatingly boring movie?  They could, and they did."

Jeffrey Pyle - Prince, Lobel, Glovsky & Tye LLP
"Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.  Never was a movie so eagerly anticipated, and yet so thoroughly dreadful.  At least for people of my generation, who grew up with (and almost uniformly love) the original three movies, it was a crushing letdown.  Why so bad?  In three words:  Jar Jar Binks."
