"What was your favorite BBA program of the 2005-2006 year?"

Richard C. Allen - Casner & Edwards, LLP
“My favorite program this year was a Tax-Exempt Organizations Committee and Colleges & University Law Section lunch session hosting a key member of the U.S. House Ways & Means staff.  He filled us in on the latest issues as Congress drafted legislation affecting nonprofits.  The legislation recently was enacted into law.”

Joan Armstrong - Murtha Cullina LLP
“A View from the Norfolk Bench, moderated by Hon. Eileen M. Shaevel (Ret.) and co-sponsored by the Norfolk County Bar Association, was my favorite BBA program of the year.  This well-attended program contained lots of "tips" from the panel of four Probate Court Judges, and was a great opportunity for bench/bar informal communication.”

James C. Stokes - Bingham McCutchen LLP
“My favorite BBA program of the 2005-2006 year was the annual Foreign Lawyers Committee Welcome Reception.  The reception, which will be held this year on September 7, is a very pleasant informal gathering with a group of bright, engaging and enthusiastic foreign trained lawyers.”

Nina J. Kimball - Kimball Brousseau LLP
“One program that stands out was “Winning Damages Claims in Employment Litigation,” put on by the Labor & Employment Section.  The interaction among the panelists, all very experienced trial attorneys and experts, was fascinating, particularly when the experts themselves questioned Joan Lukey, one of our preeminent trial attorneys, directly about her trial techniques”

Christopher Mirick - Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP
“My favorite BBA program of the past year was the Bankruptcy Law Section's "Bench Meets Bar" conference, held in May.  This year was the 16th year the conference was held, and it was attended by over 250 members of the Boston bankruptcy community.  As always, the speakers provided keen insights on current issues, and the reception provided a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues.”
