Be a Groundhog Job Shadow Day Host

Groundhog Job Shadow Day, scheduled for Friday, February 1, 2008, is a half-day event designed to expose high school students to the world of work. It is a well-organized opportunity to host a student and provide a first hand look at the skills and knowledge required to succeed in a career. Launched in Boston more than a decade ago, Groundhog Job Shadow Day is now a national event. Thousands of students statewide and hundreds of thousands nationally participate. In Boston, Job Shadow Day is a partnership among the Boston Public Schools, the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC), the Massachusetts Department of Education, and Junior Achievement. It is easy to host a job shadow, and it is rewarding, both for the student and for you. Please visit the Private Industry Council's web site, www.bostonpic.org, to sign up. You will receive a "host packet" to help you structure activities for the day. For further information, please email Rebecca Rantz at Rrantz@bostonbar.org.
